Join Us

The Kennedy Inn seeks diversity in membership so that we have the benefit of varying experiences and perspectives in the practice of law.

The best way to understand what our Inn has to offer is to attend a dinner program.  Please contact an Executive Committee or other Inn member to arrange a visit as a guest, or send us a message through our Contact page.

Membership Levels and Dues

Our members are assigned to levels depending on their experience.

McGeorge students are eligible to join the Inn during their final year of law school.  Attorneys are designated as “Associates,” “Barristers” or “Masters.”  Federal and state judicial officers are “Judicial Masters.”  We also have “Emeritus” members who do not serve on teams but who attend events and add to the culture of the Inn.

Members pay modest annual dues that vary with their membership levels.  The dues cover the expenses of our dinner meetings.  Membership includes a subscription to The Bencher, the bimonthly magazine of the American Inns of Court.

Application Process

Applications for membership are welcomed from March 1 until the deadline of May 1.  The application must be submitted by email to Arthur Scotland, our membership committee chair, at ascotland@nmgovlaw.com.  Applicants should include a resume or bio, along with a letter or email message expressing interest in joining the Kennedy Inn.

The letter should include the applicant’s reason for wanting to join the Inn. References are not necessary but are welcome (especially from current or former members of the Inn).

We select new members by the end of June for the program year starting in September.

Questions about Inn membership may be emailed to Arthur Scotland at any time of year.
